Task 2 Ethical Dilemma.docx Task 2 Professional Roles and Values - Task 2 Western Governors University In Nursing, it is not uncommon to find yourself in situations that at times may make you feel uncomfortable or even question your judgement in your role for the patient you are caring for. This situation would be one that I would find myself thinking thoroughly about. While Mr. Newcomb is my patient and it is my responsibility to meet his needs, this is not a need I would define as a necessity from a nursing standpoint. If he is medically and emotionally stable, I feel I am within my right to refuse to assist with this particular kind of situation. I would Still provide all necessary care for Mr. Newcomb; this would not cloud my judgment regarding his medical needs. I do think that Beneficence is important while providing care for anyone and everyone, there is a limit. I would not consider this to be a merciful act, or an act of kindness. On the contrary, while it is not my duty to provide for the wife, I feel that partaking in this kind of act, is wrong. I also believe it would also be crossing the line of potentially harming Mrs. Newcomb emotionally if she were to learn of this.
