TASK3.D168.docx D168 Task 3 – Interview and Community Sources WGU – D168 Schools as Communities of Care A. Interview  Interviewees Name/Job Title: Jessica Weise, Special Education Teacher  Interviewees Organization: Sherman Central School  Date and Time of Interview: Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 6:00 pm A1a. Specific Needs  Need 1: Anxiety  Need 2: Depression A1b. Addressing Needs Community Resource 1: Being that we are in a rural community, people usually need to go outside of our community to address a need outside of the school. Counselors are available but are often not fully covered under insurances. This can cause the quality of resources to diminish and limit families to mediocre care/services. Being in a low-income area, many families cannot afford private counselors unless it is provided by a county program. The only counselors within our physical community, outside of the school system and private counselors, would be our churches. We have four churches within our town limits, and all provide counseling of some type. However, there are families that are not religious and will not use this resource as it is faith-based. Community Resource 2: Activities are sometimes available for kids (before COVID) that are not affiliated with the school district. These include youth sports such as little league, flag football, cheerleading, basketball tournaments, etc. The local library as well as the churches also will hold activities or sponso. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
