For this assignment, the teacher will create a universal design for learning (UDL) instructional plan on mathematics and the use of simple addition. The students will learn to count from one to ten using different manipulatives magnets that have numbers on the front and back. Therefore, the lesson plan will motivate the learners as they perform additional operations. The learning process will stimulate a student™s mind as they critical thinking in a non-threatening classroom without isolation but opporunties to learn. Motivation Motivation is an essential element in teaching students to engage in learning. The UDL lesson plan has music, games, and worksheets to motivate the students to be enthusiastically receptive as they learn to count from one to ten. The curriculum begins with musical chairs that have colorful numbers on the back of the chairs. The teacher will ask the students what number is on the back of their chairs throughout the game. The next motivational activity is the salad game. The teacher uses flashcards, with numbers from one to ten. Next, the teacher tells the students the game is called fruit salad for snack time.
