Educational Impacts.docx The Educational Impact ENG 100 The Educational Impact I sat, surrounded by my three-hundred plus classmates, realizing that this was the moment life would truly begin for me. In that moment, I realized that I was a young, educated, African American woman, who had beat the odds of so many before me. I couldn™t help but feel proud. As a slight tear fell from my left eye, I listened to my classmate sing œNever Would Have Made It, by Marvin Sapp. I realized that the words of that song were true. I never would have made it without persevering and realizing that in order to have a promising life for myself, I needed to forever remember this moment. Graduation Day At the end of the ceremony, there was one thing that stuck with me. The speaker got up and talked about the œfour quarters of life, as he put it. We were in the first quarter, graduates of high school and under twenty-five. I immediately thought about the three quarters I had left, and knew that I had so much I wanted to accomplish before the œgame of life ended. Being educated was only the beginning of my many milestones and there were many more, in time, I™d soon achieve. Final Remarks Looking back, I realize the impact being educated has had. I have already began my career. My education has also allotted me creative ways to support my family. As a mother, I want to be able to instill the importance of an education in the minds of my children.
