The programs or services that are important in the lives of this population include but are not limited to informational, healthcare, transportation, and nutrition. The evolution of these programs designed for the betterment of the elderly include healthcare aids, PACE, and Medicare. Program Overview The evolution of any type of program shows that the need for change is apparent and the old programs or services are no longer working. The evolution of programs began with the Medicaid program which was signed into law in 1965. This medical insurance program was created to ensure the health of the seniors who are 65 years and older without income restrictions and past medical history was not an issue. The new healthcare evolved over the nest decade to include prescription coverage and even some vison and dental coverage for participants. The next evolution is with the use home healthcare aids which are for those who do not need medical attention while they age in place but do need assistance daily. This has changed from having family members being the primary care givers to having this job outsourced through an agency who sends an aide to help care for them. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
