A researcher must be ready to understand the aim, research design, method, sample, data collection instruments, and results of prior research before conducting their research. The research study conducted by Carpi, Ronan, Falconer, and Lents in 2017 utilized a deductive research method. the research aimed to work out changes within the career intentions of scholars in an undergraduate research experience in an underfunded, minority-serving post-secondary institution (Capri, Ronan, Falconer & Lents, 2017). The research method that was used as a quantitative method that employed the utilization of artifacts, program data, and program development.
