To deal with these e-business complexities, the concept of architecture emerged in the information system world (Grefen, 2015). An architecture of an information system is a high-level blueprint of that system that serves to understand its internal structure to aid in its design, redesign, configuration and maintenance (Grefen, 2015). This means the focus is on the main conceptual structures and not on small technical details in the blueprints of architecture. Basically, the architecture of an information system specifies the structure of that system in terms of functional software components that support specific functions, and interfaces that support the interactions among those components (Grefen, 2015). Aggregation and abstraction levels E-business architectures are specified at multiple levels of details or multiple levels of aggregation. These aggregation levels are positioned alongside the aggregation dimensions for architecture (Grefen, 2015). If we move the dimension, the aggregation level will decrease which as well allows us to analyze smaller structures at a higher level of detail. If we move up the dimension, this increases the aggregation level which allows us to analyze larger structures but with less details.
