Throughout history Religiou... s freedom as somehow simultaneously been grandfathered in and neglected in the area of human rights. This topic has been debated many times all in the pursuit of truth (Scharff, 2017). The United Nations Human Rights Committee addressed the freedom of religion stating that it should protect everyone, religious and nonreligious alike (Hutchinson,2016). Pope John Paul III defended the issue by creating urgency, stating that the freedom of religion must continue to be an issue of concern and priority. This was due to the raise of new religious fundamentalism being created in different countries, sadly they are covertly and even openly denying their citizens to have any other faith aside from the one with the have the majority ruling on their civil and religious rights (Hittinger, 2017). The Alliance Defending Freedom, as per their website defends religious liberties, the sanctity of human life, freedom of speech and marriage and family in the United States and around the world. They take a firm stand against any entity that attempts to control or compromise any persons belief or retreat from both civil and political life as a form of punishment for following their faith (Alliance, 2018).
