Depending on the deviant behavior it can have a negative or positive effect on society and how the action id dealt with something like a crime against someone would be stealing, murder, arson would looked upon as against the social normal, but the act of punishing the crime would be the social normal because society wants to see that any type of behavior is not tolerated. Men are most likely to be suspected of social deviance because to be deviant one must have power or authority, so what does this mean for the working environment are men in more positions of authority than women? Do we still in the 20th Century have some gender biased organizations and if so is this deviant behavior good or bad is it for or against the social norm we are used to in everyday society.Men and women are different in the work place and experience very different working environments things such as pay, gender differences in authority, and gender differences in the types of positions men and women get with the same company with the same or in some cases women have more experience(Padavic&Reskin2002).
