Operations_and_Algebraic_Lesson_Plan_507.docx SPD-570 Operations and Algebraic Lesson Plan Grand Canyon University: SPD-570 Operations and Algebraic Lesson Plan This lesson was designed to help all students by allowing them to apply mathematical elements on a first-grade level. It teaches the students how to apply word problems to everyday situations. This goal is to assist students with solving word problems, and to help them retain the information without any gaps or issues, before moving to higher content. This lesson will be presented in an all-inclusive classroom setting so there will be students who work on different levels and will need the lesson to be modified in different ways. To help students that have difficulty in perception and attention, there are resources and strategies that are included in the lesson plan and may be used to create individualized instruction, and/or modifications to aid those students who need it. Praising and reinforcing will also be used to promote positive reinforcing. This will be good for students that exhibit issues with perception and attention. Throughout the lesson from beginning to end, I will informally assess the students understanding and retention of information by verbally asking the students questions. This will allow adjustments to be made right away as needed. I would also have the paraprofessional work with the students and assist those who may need immediate assistance or one on one attention.
