Social_Stratification.docx(1) SOC-102 Social_Stratification Grand Canyon University: SOC-102 There are various definitions of stratification but the one that is simplified would be, it is defined as the act of sorting data, people, and objects into distinct groups or layers. With that said, social stratification is sorting people in different groups of society. A person™s background within a society can be differentiated by their ascribed status, as well as their achieved status. In this paper, I will complete a comparative analysis of stratification systems, along with describing the mobility of each system and explain how individuals are sorted within the system.
