This field of study was brought into existence from a reaction to 19th century psychology, which used a person™s thoughts and feeling and for self-examination. These self-thoughts and feelings were used to help examine human and animal psychology and behaviors. Behavioralism theory was introduced into common practice in the later part of the 19th century based off the aspect of mentalism. The aspect of mental hood involves the mind being studied by analogy and by examining a person™s thoughts and feelings which is referred to as introspection. The aspect of mentalist observations was considered to be too subjective be by behaviorist, because they were different then the initial researchers. The results of these studies led to irreproducible and contradictory results. Types of Behavioralism There are two main types of Behavioralism one type is the methodical Behavioralism. This type of Behavioralism which had an influence by John B. Watson™s work, which was a radical behaviorism, and was pioneered by psychologist B.F. Skinner.
