Unit_Plan_Reflection_October_2020.docx(1) SEC 580 Unit Plan Reflection Grand Canyon University: SEC 580 I unfortunate am not able to work with mentor or in class in person, but I will explain my plans for teaching small group lessons and discussions I would have. The next two weeks of class in Mrs. Jane Doe™s Social Science I will focus their unit on using Latitude and Longitude. I would design and plan lessons to help teach the small groups and present it to the teacher for review and approval. This will include differentiated instruction for all students to get a chance to learn in their own favorite way. I would work with Mrs. Jane Doe to schedule when to teach these small groups. For starters I would like to do a short assessment/quiz with my small group to gage the students prior knowledge of the unit that is to be taught to help weed out any unnecessary teachings that the students already have knowledge in (this can be done by me or by Mrs. Jane Doe when there is free time. After receiving the assessment data, I can then start my teachings, starting with a discussion with students to discuss what Longitude and Latitude are and why they think we would need these tools on a map, just to get students engaged and interested in the topic itself.
