These actions are very important and depending on what type of person that one is. When Americans consider ones ethics citizens are considering the standards in which Americans choose to live ones life. When one consider ethics in the criminal justice system and criminal justice administration one should understand that their ethics mean more because he or she are in a position of power and authority. Because those who are within the criminal justice system are meant to represent the authority that exists within this country based on this Constitution and these laws the fact that he or she are meant to represent an ethical standard means more to the people that view him or her as authority figures. One needs those in positions of power to be ethical. In this paper a discussion will take place concerning the relationship between ethics and professional behavior in the administration of criminal justice. An explanation will be given concerning the role of critical thinking with regard to the relationship of ethics and professional behavior. This discussion will include a proposal for a seminar in ethics training for law enforcement officers.
