This concentration has developed due to geographic product availability, competition and pricing, and supply chain influences. The demand for these products for energy production, heating, and transportation needs is high, and will remain high in the foreseeable future. In this paper I will analyze how the economic concentration of crude oil and natural gas production and refining was influenced by competition and pricing, how it was influenced by the supply chain, how the four factors of production are relative to them, and predict changes I anticipate for this area of concentration.
