In addition, those wishing to grow in learning in the professional world need to be familiar with research as well. A great question to ask oneself is do differences between evaluation and research exist. Most evaluators believe that evaluation and research intersect at some point; however, researchers believe that evaluation is nothing more than a subcomponent of research (Wanzer, 2021). To say that either the researcher or the evaluator is right and the other is wrong would be unfair; however, what is known is the evaluation process is used to determine value, merit, or significance in written work (Wanzer, 2021). This paper will analyze and evaluate one qualitative and one quantitative research study. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine how effectively authors from each study connected and aligned the research, to include the problem statement, purpose statement, research questions, and any theoretical conceptual frameworks. The research design, population, and sampling size will also be evaluated for alignment and connection as well.
