The lack of activity is compounded by poor access and safety factors that contribute to limited walking and riding of bicycles. The target population group for this Social Media Campaign is adults age 18 years and older. The state of Texas obesity rate is 28% (Datausa, 2019), while the United States obesity rate is 39.8% (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2016). B1) Bell county population as of 2016 was 340,411 (247,349 Adults), which made it the 16th most populated county in Texas. The county has a median age of 31, with a median household income of $52,275. The largest share of households have an income of $75,000-$100,000, with a 6% lead over the national median income. Poverty rate is 12.5%, similar to that of the state of Texas and the nation. The total area of 1088 square miles covers six large towns and several smaller ones that make up most of the population, and includes one of the United States largest Army bases at Fort Hood. The county experienced a population increase of 1.63% from 2015 to 2016 and an increase in income of 6.88%.
