It ... is important to use aseptic technique when working with organisms to avoid contamination of the culture from the bacteria and or organisms that may be in the surrounding environment. Materials and Methods: Equipment/media I used were the following: disposable cups, water, rubbing alcohol, disinfecting wipes, paper towels, candle, sharpie, scissors, paper clip, lighter, gloves, gown, goggles, mask, test tube clamps, test tube rack, test tubes, Durham test tubes, inoculation loops, long thin stem pipettes, microscopic slides, hydrogen peroxide, blank slides, active culture broth (E. Coli and Staph epidermitis), active culture streak plates (E. Coli and Staph epidermitis), Barritts A and B reagent, Methyl red reagent 0.1%, MR-VP broth (5 mL tubes), fructose powder vial, Glucose powder vial, mannitol powder, phenol red broth vials, and motility test agar 0.4%. ï‚·I started my Methyl Red, Voges-Proskauer, and Catalase LabPaq experiment on 8/6/2019. Before beginning my experiment, I prepared my working area by gathering all materials need, washing my hands, cleaning my work area with a bleach wipe and lighting my candle. I applied my PPE which included gloves, gown, mask, and goggles. While doing these things I allowed the MR-VP tubes to warm until they were room temperature. I labeled each tubes of broth, one E.
