self_reflection.docx Self-Reflection University of Phoenix MHA 542 Self-Reflection When you think of a leader many characteristics come to mind, honesty, flexible integrity and the ability to make a teamwork a part of everyday life. Throughout this course I have been exposed to many types of leaders and their ideas of how you should lead. I believe I have figured out what kind of leader I want to be and how I will lead my staff effectively. I want to be a leader that helps their staff find their purpose within the organization. Who am I as a leader? As a leader I will have an open-door policy, I want to be assessable to my staff so they know that they can come talk to me if need be. I want to develop a morale within the department that perfect is not necessary, but accountability is. To be an effective leader I must lead my example and that is what I want to do. A leader™s vison motivates the future goals and organizational purpose. My leadership Purpose. My leadership purpose is to leave my mark with every employee I encounter. I want my staff to know that they can be in my shoes if they work hard and learn at every step they take. My purpose is to train efficient staff and encourage educational growth. Some of my best leaders encouraged me to constantly grow and learn to be more marketable. How Can I Remain Authentic? I will remain authentic by staying true to myself and my leadership purpose. Remaining authentic can be difficult if you do not know yourself.
