This paper focuses on the social learning theory and provides an overview of assessment, intervention, and evaluation, application to social work practice, and comparison of other theories which will be discussed in this text. Social Learning Theory Processes of Assessment, Intervention, and Evaluation Albert Bandura asserts that people learn by observing other people as a part of the social learning theory (Lundahl & Hul,; 2015). This theory operates off a few steps: (1) people observe others™ behaviors, (2) they notice the consequences of those behaviors, (3) take interest in similar consequences, (4) remember the behaviors that elicited the consequences, and (5) repeat similar behaviors (Lundahl & Hull, 2015). Lundahl and Hull (2015) believe aggression and prosocial behaviors are connected to the social learning theory; as evidence supports these behaviors as, in part, a function of social learning. Research suggests that young children modeled negative behaviors based on what they observed by adult models (Kaiser, Snyder, and Rogers, 1995); as cited in Lundahl & Hull, 2015). It is important to also note that the social learning theory does not only apply to negative behaviors, but positive behaviors as well such as diets, decision making, etc. As this theory . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
