Case_Study____Week7.docx PSY7210 Case Study Analysis: Early Adulthood Capella University PSY7210: Lifespan Development Introduction Ernest and Isabel Palacio are a Cuban-American couple blessed with three children namely, Paula who is in the fifth grade, Alex the second born who is a fourth grader, and Thomas the last born, who is four years old. Alex appears to be a happy child, a good student in school, interacts well with his peers, although somewhat reserved but he is popular among his classmates and he is into athletics. However, until recently Alex™s demeanor has changed for the worst that resulted from uneasiness in his family. It all started when his father, Ernest had an affair with his female colleague and the relationship took a toll on his marriage, hence separation was the only option despite the couple opting for counseling to try and solve their differences. The separation happened during the summer before Alex could proceed to the fourth grade in the coming year, the children stayed with their mother. However, the children still maintained their relationship with their father by meeting every weekend at his rented apartment. Nevertheless, Alex processed to the fourth grade and he was happy with his friends again also made good adjustments to his class despite his teacher Mr. Williams being tough but fair. His parents tried their best to support their children and provide for them.
