Edu. Psych. Pro. Ass..docx Task 1 WGU C913 B1) Case 9; Practicing Presentation and Audience Skills Through Science Presentations In this video, case number 9, the teacher is using formative assessment to evaluate her students understanding of practicing listening skills as well as practicing skills to be a good presenter. As the teacher is teaching the students a lesson on wind, she is also observing and reminding them of skills they need in order to be good listeners and presenters. She uses assessment conversations to ensure that her students understand what is expected of them in order to be good listeners. The teacher also prepares the students with a chart, which acts as a rubric of sorts. The teacher uses performance assessment after this when she has her students watch a video about wind and use their good listening skills while doing this. When the video is done, they must present a paper which they wrote a sentence on pertaining to the lesson about wind. When presenting the paper, the teacher once again uses a chart to act as their rubric. She goes over with the class what is expected of them. The students then present their work. When the student is done with their presentation the teacher uses performance assessment on them by involving the class to get them thinking about how the presenter did and allowing them to come to their own conclusion rather than giving them the answer. Having a chart and going over it with the children before hand was a great way to let the students know. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
