A positive correlation has been found regarding the communication and interactions with a nurse and the patient experience and overall satisfaction. When a patient has a good experience and is satisfied with the verbal communication, they are more likely to be compliant with instructions and feel comfortable asking questions to clarify any potential confusion. The following information will address two studies that use the theoretical framework associated with the building blocks of Peplaus Interpersonal Relations Theory. The first study was designed around the theoretical framework of the Nurse-Patient Relationship addressed in the article, “Developing a positive patient experience with nurses in general practice: an integrated model of patient satisfaction and enablement†(Desborough et. al., 2017). This study analyzed variables in interviews conducted on 678 patients in 21 general practice facilities. The study was a concurrent mixed method that focused on nurses and patients in general practice and how effective communication could promote good patient experience and enablement.
