Personal Diversity Statement.doc Student Name 44044 PERSONAL DIVERSITY STATEMENT My name is Serge Nelson, I am a student originally from United States, at present, and I am completing my Masters of Science in Nursing, and looking forward to continuing my education and the pursuit of a career. University life in the United States has given me great opportunities to work with students from all over the world, interacting with different cultures and perspectives of worldview. I served as president of the Association of International Students, helping students in the process of adapting to life away from home and promoting events to connect domestic and international students. I also worked as president of the organization International Public Affairs Leaders, which mission was to promote leadership training with a global vision, to organize projects such as International Affairs Month, where we organized events such as panels, round tables of discussion, motivational speakers, to promote education and integration among domestic and international students. These experiences were essential to my growth as a leader and reaffirmation of my desire to work with education in the future. My passion for learning languages â€‹â€‹has also been rectified with these experiences, knowing how important it is to be able to communicate in the native language of the patient, I worked hard to become fluent in English and Spanish, already carrying Portuguese as my mother tongue.
