Compared with hetersexual individuals, LGBTQIA face behavioral, psychosocial and biomedical effects of disregarding and segregation (McCrone, 2018). This assessment will discuss the community health concerns in the LGBTQIA community, factors that contribute to health disparities and access to services, as well as establish health goals for the LGBTQIA community. Community Health Concern The acronym LGBTQIA stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual. Acronyms and terms are constantly evolving and may mean different things to different individuals. The term lesbian referrs to a women who is either sexually or emotionally involved with another women, gay is a term used to refer to a man who is either sexually or emotionally involved with other men. Bisexual is a term which referrs to someone who is sexually or emotionally attrackted to more than one gender, recently the term bisexual is used for someone who is attrackted to more than one gender or of the many gender identities.
