TATIVE RESEARCH QUESTIONS AND METHODS2 Problem Statement Surgical site infections (SSIs) have been recorded at 345 million dollars of care costs on preventable SSIs. Although the reported incidence of deep SSIs after spine surgery ranges from 1% to 4%, postoperative infections are among the most common HAC in the hospital setting (Aleem et al., 2020). Prevention strategies are considering patient comorbidities and screening for these problems before surgery. Physicians should do the following bacteria screening, prescribing antibiotics, skin antisepsis, preventing hypothermia during the procedure, and applying antibiotic powder before closing the incision (Aleem et al., 2020). Studying and interviewing physicians that these practices are being done is crucial in preventing Spinal SSIs in a hospital setting. Methodology Objectives ï‚·To interview the physician's experiences who had direct care with patients that had SSIs during spinal surgeries. ï‚·To get a better understanding of the different conditions that lead to SSIs in spinal surgeries and the preventative measures that were and were not used. Research Questions What are the experiences of healthcare providers who are involved in the direct patient care and surgeries of patients with SSIs in spinal surgeries?
