Task_1___Emotional_and_Cultural_Intelligence_11.16.2020.docx CHM1 Task 1 Course Code: D082 GEIT results attached to submission in PDF format. A.Daniel Goleman, a psychologist, wrote a book titled “Emotional Intelligence.†In this book it outlines Dr. Golemans philosophy on emotional intelligence. According to Dr. Goleman “emotional intelligence is a key to high performance. It refers to a different way of being smart, it is not your IQ, it is how you manage yourself and your relationships.†(Goleman, D. (2019). Introduction to emotional intelligence. In this area I scored a 7 out of 10. For me, I am not a morning person, I tend to be cranky and out of sorts. I used to “push through†morning meetings, conference calls, or one on ones with my staff and other co-workers. I started noticing that after these activities, the people I was with in those meetings left deflated, defeated, and even snippy at times. I had to look in the mirror and recognize that my cantankerous demeanor in the morning was rubbing off on those people around me. I then realized that instead of having these meetings in the morning when I was still “waking up†to just get them over. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
