HS_210_Case_study_Essay_unit_9.docx Unit 9 Case Study Essay HS210 Medical Office Management No matter who you are, everyone has someone that they just dont get along with or that they just do not like for some reason. Someone that just rubs you the wrong way or who you just cannot stand for whatever reason. In Katherines case, it is two of her employees that despise each other. In my opinion, Healthcare providers and workers are held to a different standard of professionalism because their work could mean the difference between life and death for someone. They handle life and death situations all the time and when it comes to administering care to patients, personal vendettas and petty problems or drama have no place in a healthcare facility setting. You are not at work to cause problems or have issues with coworkers, you are there to help heal people and save lives. In this scenario where the vindictive and manipulative employee tells Katherine that she has seen the other employee with the exemplary record taking drugs out of the supply cabinet, Katherine is in a very tough position because she knows that these two employees have a past with one another and just do not get along. Is she supposed to believe the employee labeled as vindictive and manipulative? Or is she supposed to believe the person who has an impeccable record? It is a very tough decision but one that she must make. Katherine should start to deescalate this situation by first calmly thanking the employee for bringing the situation to her. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
