From your laptop, to smart phones, to tablets and more and all of the using function a similar thing called CPU. The central processing unit or the CPU can be considered to be the brains of the computer or the device. There are two different types of storage that an CPU works with, both primary or secondary. The main memory being both data and the instruction is what the CPU primarily works with. There two types of components that will send instructions to different places in the computer in the CPU. First is the Control Unit or the CU where the CU will use electrical signals in order to execute program instruction directly to the entire system. The other component is the ALU or the Arithmetic/Logic unit. This will execute both logical and arithmetic operations. In many computers the CPU will get information from either the primary or the secondary storage. In the Primary storage you have temporary data while in the secondary storage you have a permanent or a half permanent data via external drive or an optical. Hard drive disks or the CD-ROM are considered secondary storage. The Control unit can be referred to as a ringleader telling all the components within the system what to do.
