Community resource evaluation.docx HSE- 215 Community resource evaluation Southern New Hampshire University HSE- 215 Evaluation is an important process it determines where a person should be placed by where they fit in best. For example, people with developmental needs, different age groups, specific interests, and more. The community program I decided to go with is the YMCA also, known as the Y. The YMCA is a community that is for everyone within this community many programs and services that help people. The YMCA is a nonprofit organization that helps the people in their community. œIn 1844, George Williams launched the YMCA movement in London as a volunteer, and his example persists in the expansion of the Y across the globe. In the United States, early YMCA programs were run almost entirely by volunteers (YMCA,2021). Some of the programs at the YMCA include after-school care, youth resources, aquatics, preschool, sports, education, and employment training. The age groups that in this organization are infants and toddlers (0-3), preschool (3-5), youth (6-12), teens (13-16), adults (16+), seniors (65+), and the YMCA even have a group for families. The age group I will be focusing on is the youth group which is: ages 6 to 12 years of age. For the age group 6 to 12 there are many programs they can attend, and they have something for everyone. The YMCA also has some adaptive programs for those with special needs so no one is left out and they can work at their own pace.
