Apple is a c... ompany whose industry is electronics. For the purpose of this assignment the competitor chose is Dell Technologies (DELL), which is also in the same industry. One thing that is important to mention is that based on the data pulled, Dell had no stock prices before December 28th, 2018 which is when they returned to the stock market after years as a private company (Welch, 2018). Going back to Apple, its three-year rate of return is 200.23% which indicates that in two year the value of its stock doubled. Now, that does not mean that it has been continuously increasing in the last three years because stocks simply do not work that way, Apple has not had any significant decreases in value in the last three years which is an indicator of how well the company is doing. On the other hand, there is Dell which has a œthree-year (less than two years to be exact) rate of return of 50.54%. At first glance this number is not bad, because if comparing just the beginning number and the last one there has been an increase, however, along the way there has been more than one speed bump. It seems that Dell™s stock fluctuates a lot, and that is not a good sign. The last value recorded is the same that they had last year in May and in between then and now there has been more than one dip in value “ and a few increases as well.
