Research on Social Work Practice, 25(6), 715... -725. Anxiety and depression are among the mental health conditions that pose high risks to individuals. The treatment for anxiety and depression is widely sorted. The treatment is very effective and time-limited. Studies have shown that anxiety and mood disorders have become common, having a prevalence rate of approximately 14% to 28% in the US and Europe. According to the authors, Herman, Siu Man, and Cecilia Chan, several research studies have revealed that anxiety together with depression has similarly high rates, just like mood disorders. Clinical trials indicate that psychotherapy is very efficient in reducing anxiety and depression, showing comparable evidence of medication. This article shows that changes after medication and psychotherapy are very observable. Unfortunately, many individuals with anxiety and depression disorders fail to complete their medication and treatment, thereby failing to significantly improve. The authors of the article suggest that coming up with the best study evidence is simply through the initial steps in social work practice that is evidence-based.
