The Problem of Evil is an argument that shows that God cannot be either all- powerful, all-knowing, and/or all good. ” At the heart of each problem is the belief that the existence of God and the existence evil are incompatible. They present an “either/or” dilemma: either God exists or evil exists, for they cannot exist together. Clearly evil does exist, therefore, God must not (“Theodicy Overview”). Therefore, in order to explain this argument I will use a technique, which is defined as a dialogue between two people with different views about Gods’ existence, and so on. I will call the first person subject 1 and the other subject 2. Subject 1: It seems to me that the evil’s existence in the world disproves the existence of God— at least the God you believe in: one who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent. For if God were omnipotent, he would be able to prevent suffering; if he were omniscient, he would know how to prevent suffering; and if he were omnibenevolent, he would desire to prevent suffering. But suffering exists. This is obvious. And since suffering exists, it seems to follow that God does not. Subject 2: I disagree.
