Nah, I’ll Do It Later
Did you know that 80-95% of students suffer from procrastination, whether it is
regarding school, work, or relationships? Although procrastination may not seem wide-scale
now, it may negatively affect our future drastically. We all put off tedious tasks which we may
not want to do at the time, however we should not let it get to the point where we must finish it
immediately or rushed. In the world we are living in now, if you do not complete your job well
enough, someone else can. That is a reason why we always must strive to do our best. For me,
procrastination has ruined my chances at doing well is school, left me with a mild case of
insomnia, and added excess stress to my life.
In high school, I noticed I was beginning to fall behind due to procrastination. For
example, when we had to complete an assignment online by a certain time, I would often wait till
the last minute to begin. This affected my grades, and since I had no time, my work was
mediocre. A big reason why I would always wait so long to complete my assignments is because
I would get easily distracted. Between television and the different social networking websites, I
never found time to dedicate myself to my studies. For example. I wouldn’t find a way to
prioritize between studying and having fun. As a child, when I would come home from school, I
always got ready to go outside and play. I believe that is when my procrastination began.
