Introduction.
The health and the social care sector is the most critical and sensitive part
of human nature. It is of importance for a health and social care personnel to be
adequately taught, trained and equipped adequately for them to be effective to the
user of the services. When the care worker is well knowledgeable especially of
the specific needs of the service user, then we can say efficiency in service
delivery is achieved. In UK laws, regulations and guidance are available to govern
and guide both the care worker and the service user.
It is mandatory for the care worker to understand the specific physical and
mental needs of the user, for the right service to be dispensed. The care user is
also entitled to protection from any injury be it internal or external by the worker.
Task 1.
L01 Understand Perceptions of health, disability, illness and behavior.
1.1 Analyze Concepts of health, disability, illness and
behavior in relation to users of health and social care services.
In a research by World Health Organization, the concept is on health and
social care is very much popular and wide especially in the UK. Health can be
defined as a feeling or a state that distance you from normal functional of your
3
body system. When a person feels unwell or he is in that state he/she will be
seeking the services of a health and social care worker. The critical and sensitive
nature of a person’s health requires that the workers and the stuff in the field of
health are properly trained. (Costa et al. 2016). Disability is a common issue
among care users. Disability is a physical incapacity that makes one unable to
make use of some of his/her body part. Most types of disabilities however are in a
physical state. It is a condition that does not allow a person to act normally and
also somehow restrict their movements.
