According to our textbook, the public good can be defined as “shared beliefs of a political community as to what goals government ought to attain” (​Magstadt, 2017, p. 26). Different political ideologies can be applied in order to benefit the entirety of the public good rather than just a select group of favored individuals. These ideologies are a “set of fixed, predictable ideas held by politicians and citizens on how to serve the public good” are varied, and they are used to justify political action (​Magstadt, 2017, p. 26). For this assignment, I will depict how the political ideology of capitalism ultimately - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- government needs to pick up where capitalism falls short. Without moderate competition between and within social classes, economic growth would ultimately stagnate, as innovation and an assiduous work ethic is less rewarded.
