This lesson was taught to a first-grade class of 20 students, 8 boys and 12 girls €”16 of them being English Language Learners. I have students in groups of 4-6 at tables. Each group is mixed in ability and language, as to assist each other when needed. ELLs get pulled out throughout the day for LEP resources.
