Impact on Growth An important event that impacted the growth of the Tanner Health systems hospital would be when the Tanner Health system contributed close to $912M to the local economy. The economic growth of the hospital was reported by the annual Economic Impact Report from the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) 2016 data. (Tanner News 2018). An important impact the hospital growth had on the community was also the 9,000 new jobs added to both west Georgia and east Alabama hospital centers. “incurred over $40 million in uncompensated costs to provide indigent care, charity care, other free care, and bad debt expenses to the residents†(Barker, 2019). With the massive boom in services offered by the Tanner Health system, to keep up with public demand for services three new buildings were added. These were: anew hospital in Wedowee, a new health pavilion, and a new neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Carrollton GA. B1. Service A program the Tanner hospital provides is the Tanner Health Systems Get Healthy Kids program. This free program is for kids ages 8 to 16 years old teaching them along with their parents the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
