They are located in Houston, Texas, and are currently working with NASA. Because of this government contract with NASA, Techfite CIO is concerned about its security. It currently has a two-firewall system that creates a three-ring network where the innermost ring is the most secure and the outermost ring connects directly to the Internet. Each one of these firewalls creates a log of all the network traffic that passes through each of the firewalls. The company is also growing internationally so it must follow strict security compliances such as FISMA and NIST. Techfite currently scans all its security logs manually, but to maintain FISMA compliance, it will need to automate this process. Their I.T. department has a problem with holding system logs for over a year due to a lot of traffic going through the network and insufficient storage space.
