CHChange_Management.docx Change Management Plan Your Name NRP/508 Date Professor Change Management Plan The federal government allows state legislation to provide the scope of practice for advanced registered nurse practitioners (APRNs) (Hamric et al., 2014). While there has been a national standardization in education, ensuring APRNs have the capacity to assess, diagnose, order tests, and interpret these tests to help diagnose and treat patients. This treatment can include pharmacological (prescriptive practice) or non-pharmacological means; however, some states have enacted restrictive practice, which places a need for a supervising physician to allow an APRN to practice at their full scope (Hamric et al., 2014). The problem statement identified by this author is that legislation needs to be enacted to allow APRNs across the country to practice at their full scope of authority without a supervising physician. Fraser and Melillo (2019), demonstrate that allowing APRNs to practice at their full scope of training not only reduces healthcare costs but increases patients access to healthcare, as well as increases overall health-care-related outcomes. The antecedent statement demonstrates the consequences of not enabling APRNs to practice at their full scope of training. Continuing restrictive legislation on APRNs scope of practice both increases healthcare costs and decreases patient access to healthcare providers, and decreases overall patient healthcare outcomes (Fraser and Melillo, 201. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
