CPMGT 303 W2 CPM.doc Critical Paths Method CPMGT/303 Executive summary The critical paths method is technique used in project management to show activities and their connection to duration. Findin... g the critical path means that we are isolating certain activities; that if they fall behind schedule they can pose a risk to the project and other deadlines outlined in the Gantt chart. When examining material in that light we will create a dependency matrix that shows activities can only start once the prior activity is completed. For my project, I utilized œProject scheduling for constructing BIOGAS plant using critical path method. I was unable to successful down load Microsoft project so I manually imputed the data into excel and generated my own Gantt chart. According toÂ "Gantt.com"(2019), œA Gantt chart, commonly used in project management, is one of the most popular and useful ways of showing activities (tasks or events) displayed against time. This was the most effective method to display the critical path method (CPM) because the Gantt chart shows duration and activity in a clear and concise way. Lessoned learned from this exercise is that it is critical to accurately break down activities and associate them to a time line. If there is a stepped missed of activity not accurately displayed it has the potential to shift the entire project to the right or left in term of completion.
