The purpose of... this essay is to note the direction our economy is heading while remaining as unbiased as possible. We will evaluate how U.S. trade policy changes in the last two years affect global trade activities by multinational corporations. I will also discuss the opinions of more notable economists™ opinions on the changes that have occurred in the last two years. More personally, I will explain the effect of recent changes to trade and tariff policies have had on my employer, myself, and those around me. Historically, the United States has embraced free and open trade. The openness and has led to increases in employment, output and greater income for the countries participating in the trade. However, the Trump Administration has sought to implement several new tariffs to threaten further trade restrictions. For example, On March 1, 2018, President Trump announced his intention to impose a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports. You might be thinking to yourself that this type of behavior is overboard, but rest assure that every countries trade will always begin to balance out. With all the backlash the Trump Administration has received you would begin to think our civilization is on the verge of collapse. It is important to recall how much the United States is involved on the global trading scale.
