Anxiety is a psychological disorder that has five different types of disorders that include generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder. Generalized anxiety disorder also known as GAD is a chronic anxiety disorder that causes exaggerated worry and tension with little to nothing in provoking the worry. Generalized anxiety disorder can be treated with many therapeutic interventions such as pharmacological agents, cognitive in nature, and alternative treatment. Common symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder consist of excessive anxiety or worry on most days for six months. The excessive worry can be for a few things such as personal health, work, and etc. This form of anxiety causes many issues in different areas of life. Some symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder consist of muscle tension, sleep issues, problems controlling emotions, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and etc. Pharmacological in nature.
