WK1 ASSGN 2 Initial Certification PRAC6670.docx PRAC6670Â PRAC6670 Certification in Arizona Walden University Initial Certification & Arizona Practice EnvironmentÂ Arizona is a state which grants full practice authority after licensure. The following certifications have been approved for nurse practitioners: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Credentialing Center, National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecological, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties, Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, and AACN Certification Board (NursingLicensure.org, 2020). A letter must be sent from the University to the state board of nursing. A temporary certificate to practice is allowed if the RN has a license in good standing, once the board is paid an application Fee of $150.00, fingerprint Fee: $ 50.00, temporary Certification Fee: $ 35.00 (optional), and a prescribing and Dispensing Fee: $150.00 (optional), for RNPs only. No supervision is required to begin practice (Arizona State Board of Nursing, 2020). Neighboring State The state that I may look at practicing in besides Arizona would be Oregon (OR). OR is also a full authority practice state. The fees required are to pay $150 for initial state certification and $75 for prescriptive authority (if needed). A nurse practitioner is required to pay the $225 for both credentials (NursingLicensure.org, 2020). The state requires completion ofÂ aÂ qualifyingÂ NPÂ program withinÂ theÂ past one year; OR.
