Lesbian prostitute Aileen Wuornos was popularly termed “America's first female serial killer.†(Pearson, 2007, Para. 1).She killed six men and lied about self-defense. It is apparent through Aileens illegal behavior that reasonable decision lies behind her crime. The theory for Aileen Wuornos is rational choice theory. Aileen Wuornos Aileen Carol Wuornos was born and raised in Rochester, Michigan and then in the 1980s, she moved to Florida. Her dad was sent to jail for child abuse right after she was born and later died in jail. Aileens mother was not there for her, leaving her and her brother behind. Since there was no one left to take care of them, they moved in with their grandparents. “Yet Wuornos grandmother was alleged to be an alcoholic and her grandfather a terrifying, violent forceâ€(Messina, 2020, Para. 2). After that, she began doing sexual favors for cigarettes and money at the age of 11. Her criminal record started when she moved to Florida.
