Clinical_Field_Experience_C_580_.docx SPD 580 Clinical Field Experience C: Intervention Grand Canyon University: SPD 580 Clinical Field Experience C: Intervention I chose to focus on the four students who was in first grade all RTI level Tier 1 that I identified in the previous field experience. My mentor and I collaborated and decided to implement the intervention strategies that we can up with while presenting high-quality instruction to the students. The materials used for this lesson included: whiteboard, colored dry erase markers, worksheets, pen, paper, flash cards, and projector screen. My mentor present instruction using a combination of a video, and the white board pausing in between the lesson to assess for understanding and to promote engagement. The video presented information, but he would pause it and break down the information and ask the students questions. He then wrote information on the white board with color markers to keep the students attention. This worked well for the students I was focusing on. During the lesson, whenever one of the students got off task. I would prompt him to get back on task. This worked well and after several prompts, I noticed that all it took was a look for the student get back on task. I enjoyed this experience. The interventions put into place helped the students and their challenges. The chosen students struggled with paying attention and staying on task while instruction was being presented.
