The disease remains common in some parts of the world such as Europe, Asia, and Africa. In 2008, there were several outbreaks according to the CDC. The outbreak reached European region and France by 2011. With the Amish community being unvaccinated while traveling to the Philippines they were completely exposed to the deadly disease. (Center for Disease Control, (CDC 2019) (B1) Epidemiological Determinants and Risk Factors Measles are highly contagious, this virus is transmitted through direct contact with the droplets or through airborne when an infected person coughs, sneezing or even breaths. Measles are spread very easily that, according to the CDC, if one person is contagious then 9 out of 10 people that encounter that person will become infected if they arent immune. When someone coughs or sneezes the particles can stay in the airspace for up to 2 hours.
