Discuss a conversation that created distrust and had a significant impact on you by doing the following: Note: The conversation can be from any time in your past. 1. Explain the event(s) that contributed to the conversation and the medium in which the conversation took place (e.g., email, text, spoken). I work in a Long Term Care facility that has 4 units: short-stay rehabilitation, long term nursing, half long-term/half short-term and a long term subacute unit. I am assigned primarily to the subacute unit and because of licensing subacute is considered separate from the remaining three units. Both subacute and the rest of the facility are required to have a designated Registered Nurse 24-7. This particular evening I ended up being the only RN in the entire facility. In addition my unit, which normally has 5 licensed staff, only had 3 scheduled and at this particular time 1 nurse was on lunch. When I am the only RN on the subacute unit, I am not to clock out for a lunch nor am I able to leave the unit as I have to be available to respond to any emergencies. The load of having extra patients was already weighing on me before the added stress of this conversation. I also had discovered some issues that needed follow up with the physician and required extensive care and documentation that contributed to my elevated stress level.
