Medication_Selection_and_Ethical_Issues_.docx PSY7330 Medication Selection and Ethical Issues PSY7330 Capella University Abstract This paper will include an explanation on what should and shouldn™t be present on a Psychotropic Medication Recommendation form letter, a hypothetical client who will prescribed a medication for generalized anxiety disorder and the reason why for the choice of the medication and lastly a brief letter explaining why I believe this medication will be a good fit for my hypothetical client. Part 1: Mock Letter Evaluation Looking at the Mock medication form letter, there are different components that are needed for the patient so that they are able to access their prescription. Upon reviewing the APA™s code of conduct I was able to determine what was important and what was unethical. I found that including who the physician is that is making out the recommendation was important. Providing when the medication will begin and when the next visit will be. Though there were components of the form that were essential, there was also elements within the letter that did not meet the ethical guidelines. The first being that there isn™t anything showing that the client is aware of the medication form such as a client signature and also the form has the patients social security number . This is violating 3.10 Informed consent.
