The goal of improving patient knowledge and safe use of opioids was done by written and spoken education. Interventions focused on patients whom were to receive a new prescription of hydrocodone-acetaminophen in the emergency department. Review of Literature: The article did not have a section for review of literature. The researchers used thirty-five articles for their study. (McCarthy et al,2015). The researches did mention in the introduction that the American College of Emergency Physicians has published prescribing guidelines for the appropriate use of opioids.
